Business Analyst

Location: Detroit, MI
Duration:5 + months

Rate: $30-32/hr

 
SUMMARY
Business analysis and reporting using Mainframe/PC SAS and SQL commands to develop and deliver custom reports using healthcare backend data (claims, member, provider, ...etc)
 
QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mainframe and/or PC SAS
• Excellent command of SQL statements.
• Use of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, ...)
• Knowledge of Healthcare claims, provider, and membership data
• Work with business users to define requirements, build custom reports, validate the information, and deliver the reports in an expeditious manner.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Other duties may be assigned.

 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.

 
LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents including process, procedure, and technical manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and basic algebraic functions.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Past experience with OSCAR/SQL Server.
• Prior work experience at BCBSM in a data reporting role.

 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years related experience preferred.
