Job Purpose/ Description:

• Possesses detailed understanding of selected emerging technologies and frameworks for delivering applications and their applicability. This knowledge also includes an awareness of adoption levels for key mainstream and industry specific technology standards, including best practice guidance and technology migration strategies and techniques.
• Examples of current technologies \ frameworks include J2EE, Microsoft .Net, Web Services, and Business Intelligence.
• Focuses on technology issues of medium to high complexity.
• Provides leadership and management skills to define enterprise architecture and standards through collaborative team efforts.
• Manages the development and piloting \ evaluation of architecture solutions for specific business needs that align with the enterprise architecture.
• Provides detailed expertise and consulting services in one or more architecture \ technology disciplines.
• Stays current on technology through a variety of sources such as training, independent research, involvement with standard-setting groups, financial services, and cross-industry groups, etc.
• Communicates architecture standards and directions through oral communication, written communication, and training courses.
• Identifies obsolete technologies and processes, and assesses associated risks to the business; works with the business on plausible alternatives for migrations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Leverages detailed expertise and knowledge to deliver architecture and standards that address complex issues and future directions.
• Coordinates, manages, influences, and gains comments from cross functional teams and all levels of management on architecture and standards.
• Participates on and influences directions on external standard-setting organizations.
• Champions, defines, leverages, and implements processes to define and institutionalize architecture and standards.
• Ensures that architecture and standard processes are ingrained in other appropriate IT and business processes.
• Acts as a catalyst to ensure that the architecture and standards are available in an easy, usable form to those who need it through publications, presentations, meetings, etc.
• Represents the IT aspects of business process integration across internal and external organizations.
• Leads cross-functional technical teams for resolving complex technology issues and collaborating on technology directions.
• May lead technology prototype efforts and pilot deployments.
• May have involvement with the business during its strategic planning and budget cycles to leverage knowledge and anticipate technology transformation potential from a customer perspective.
• Champions, defines, leverages, and implements processes to define and institutionalize architecture and standards.
• Ensures that architecture and standard processes are ingrained in other appropriate IT and business processes.
• Acts as a catalyst to ensure that the architecture and standards are available in an easy, usable form to those who need it through publications, presentations, meetings, etc.
• Represents the IT aspects of business process integration across internal and external organizations.

Required education/experience:

• Typically 15 years of experience, including project management, application development, infrastructure selection and support, and systems technology analysis.
• Gaining approval and communication of technology architecture solutions and directions.
• In-depth knowledge of one or more business functions.
• Collaboration and consensus building among diverse groups.
• Lead roles on cross-functional teams, internal peer groups, and external IT groups or IT standard-setting bodies.
• Able to influence and advise large, complex project teams on technology architecture directions and implementations.
• Provides leadership and "mentoring" to other architects throughout the enterprise.
• Leads and manages key \ complex architecture efforts, such as architecture definition, pilots \ prototypes, and architecture implementations.
• Capable of defining IT Architecture measures and metrics in terms of value added

Other Comments for Vendors:

This is a position where we are looking for someone who has worked on projects where a new Security authorization or authentication scheme has been implemented. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and must be familiar with web or alternative digital channels (I.E IPhone).
